چکیده
resorption of tooth structures can occur as a result of physiological, pathological, and idiopathic factors. early diagnosis and appropriate treatment can prevent its serious complications. this case report presents surgical endodontic management of a trauma-induced perforating external root resorption, which was diagnosed with the help of cone beam computed tomography. following root canal treatment, intentional replantation of the tooth was performed so as to expose the opening of the resorption defect to allow for complete debridement and closure. eighteen months follow-up showed arrest of root resorption, and progressive healing of the defect. key words: biodentine, cone-beam computerized tomography, root resorption, sodium trichloroacetate, surgical replantation

Management of Perforating Idiopathic Internal Root Resorption
This case report describes the endodontic treatment of an idiopathic perforated internal root resorption. A 24-year-old male Malay patient presented with internal root resorption of two of his anterior teeth. The medical history was non-contributory and he had no history of traumatic injury or orthodontic treatment. Cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) determined the nature, location and severi...

Intentional replantation is in practice from past many years as a treatment option for pulpless teeth and also an effective treatment option for teeth which are difficult or impossible to treat using the conventional root canal therapy. External resorptions associated with inflammation in marginal tissues present a difficult clinical situation. Many times, lesions are misdiagnosed and confused with caries and internal resorptions. As a result inappropriate treatment is often initiated. This paper provides three-dimensional representations of cervical external resorption, based on X-ray microfocus-tomographical scanning of a ca...

Internal root resorption is a chronic inflammatory process initiated within the pulp space with the loss of dentin. This condition demands a comprehensive understanding of the pathologic process, so as to identify the cause and arrest the resorptive phenomena. It is a rare occurrence, asymptomatic, with slow progression, detected through routine radiographic examination, where it appears as a r...
متن کاملOrthodontic external root resorption--endodontic considerations.
External root resorption in posttreatment orthodontic patients, if severe, may jeopardize the retention of the tooth or teeth involved. Numerous studies (1-5) have been undertaken to determine the relationship between the frequency and severity of external root resorption and orthodontic movement. Some investigators found the incidence of root resorption to be low (6-9), while others found it t...
